The Witnesses

Khalid Shatta

A towering figure, a monument that stands at the center of the exhibition because it represents the witness connected to everything around the room. The sculpture itself is not complete on its own. It is a container. Inside it live other works by other artists as a form of testimony from the witness and fragile attempts to tell.

This figure demands physical engagement. Visitors must move around it, under it, and close to it. Listen to it. There is no single viewpoint that makes sense. It stands burdened, uneven, and unresolved, but present and in this moment, presence is already an act of resistance.
